Raku is here!

Raku is here!

Our first raku firing workshop is here at the Hive. We are so excited to have Sondra Tracy here to do raku with us. Sondra has years of experience in atmospheric firings that she is eager to share with you.

Raku Workshop

Saturday, November 19th
10am – approximately 3pm
$75

This is a hands-on workshop, so bring your bisqueware! Everyone will have the opportunity to pull your own piece from the kiln.

  • Bring bisqueware and safe clothing.
  • Glazes, gloves, and tongs are provided.

Safety Notes

Safe clothing includes long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and closed-toed shoes. Clothing should be made of natural fibers, as polyester and other artificial materials can melt. If you have long hair, please bring something to pull it back. Covering your hair is a good plan. Safety goggles are not provided, but you are welcome to wear them. Raku firing is fun and dangerous. Please be awake and alert for this workshop.
